Zambian Adventure - 5 nights/6 days
Both River Club and Tongabezi
Lodge, are situated on the banks of the Zambezi River approximately 18km (11m) from Victoria Falls.
At River Club each chalets is completely open on
one side to allow an uninterrupted vista of the river and the glorious African
sunsets from both bed and bath. At Tongabezi visitors are taken care of by
personal valets who arrange daily excursions and activities, and attends to all
your needs. Royal Livingstone Hotel, also situated on the river, is closer to
the falls but is a much larger colonial style hotel. Here traditional high tea
is served in the lounge on certain days of the week and the dining facilities
offer a combination of old world savoir-faire and contemporary sophistication.
From any of these facilities you can enjoy Victoria Falls and all
the activities that come with it: local markets, bungee jumping, canoe safaris
upstream of the falls, white water rafting downstream of the falls, a visit to
Livingstone Museum, sundowner cruise, or a helicopter or microlite flight over
the falls. A visit to Livingstone Island is a must. It is here where Dr
Livingstone first viewed the falls or as the locals call it, Mosi-oa-Tunya (The
Smoke That Thunders). The excursion begins with a thrilling ride through the
channels of the Zambezi in a twin-engine boat followed by a guided tour of the
island, a protected World Heritage Site.
There are numerous camps to choose from in South Luangwa National Park,
one of Africa's finest parks with huge concentrations of game including,
leopard, lion, giraffe, zebra, kudu, hippo and crocodile, to name a few.
Walking safari and night drives are offered here and many of the lodges have
smaller bush camps in remote areas that cater to only six or seven guest.
Walking safaris are an excellent way to experience the bush up close and cover
about 5 to 11 km per day (3-7 miles).
Day 1, 2 and 3: Arrive in Livingstone, transfer
to Tongabezi, River Club or Royal Livingstone Hotel.
Day 3, 4 and 5: Transfer to South Luangwa National Park.
Day 6: Return to Livingstone.
Rates available on request and dependant on
duration of stay, type of accommodation, etc.
