The mighty Victoria Falls, twice the height of Niagara and one and a half times as wide
Two major rivers form landlocked
Zimbabwe's northern and southern boundaries: the great Zambezi in the north and
the languid Limpopo in the south. In between lies a variety of habitats, from
the granite hills of the Motopos to the beautiful mountains, forests and rivers
of the eastern Highlands. Zimbabweans, predominantly from the Shona and Ndebele
ethnic groups are astonishingly friendly and hospitable. The country is
exquisite with diverse wilderness areas and the breathtaking Victoria Falls, one
of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The accommodation is exceptional from
rustic thatch-roofed lodges to the classic colonial style Victoria Falls Hotel.
Unfortunately Zimbabwe has had more than its share of political and economical
woes over the last few years. In the mean time, neighboring Zambia is fast
becoming a hot destination for viewing the falls, rafting the
Zambezi River and idyllic game viewing.
